A few tips for keeping your blooms looking their best!

Your beautiful blooms have been harvested at the perfect time in their lifecycle, as well as at the best time of day, in order to give you the longest vase life to enjoy.

Most of our flowers should easily last a week in your home, with some lasting much longer than that!

There are a few things you can do to make them last a bit longer, so you can continue to have that flower joy in your home.

Heat
When you pick up your flowers, please do not leave them in your hot car for very long. The heat that can build up in a vehicle will very quickly reduce the life of the flowers. The best thing to do is treat them like your cold or frozen groceries you just purchased, get them home and in a cool vase of water asap.
Foliage
Make sure to remove any foliage that would sit in the water. These leaves can start to decay, and add to the bacteria problem.
Shade
They may have loved basking in the full sun out in the field, but not so much in the vase. Try to keep your flowers in a cooler area of the house, out of direct sunlight.

Vessel Choice
Start with a clean vase. This is important, as a dirty container can harbour bacteria that can make the flower stems cells close up, meaning they can’t take a drink!
Trim
Every couple days, the stems should be recut ( about 1/2” off the ends), and at a bit of an angle. At the same time, the water should be changed out with fresh, cool tap water.
Tidy
Remove any flowers that have used up their time of beauty, so the fresher ones can continue to thrive.
